Located between Parkersburg and Charleston, the Fairplain Yacht Club is a go to for the Ripley locals.
Don’t walk in expecting an actual yacht club though. The closest body of water that you could get a boat on is roughly 15 miles away. However, there is a boat or two inside this backwoods sports bar that sits on a dirt road.
If you’re anywhere between Charleston and Parkersburg and you’re looking for a great dive bar with a big smoker, you have to check this place out.
The smoked wings were some of the best I've ever eaten.
While you’re at it, grab a bottle of whiskey or shine next door at the Appalachian Distillery.

CJ’s is one of, if not the only place in Parkerburg with a dedicated Gluten Free menu. Known for their wood fired pizzas, CJ’s also has an expansive selection of pastas.
With his two sons, Rodney Facemire started his vineyards in spring of 1984 and now consist of over six acres that produce 40 tons of grapes annually. Since then, the orchards have been expanded. Blackberry, raspberry and blueberry fields were planted and a rhubarb patch was established.

Located in Fayetteville between Charleston and Beckley is Bridge Brew Works. Off the beaten path, they’re not exactly easy to find. It’ll be worth the trip though to get their delicious Moxxee Coffee Stout.

Located in downtown Charleston, Pies & Pints is Charleston’s premier pizza parlor. With pizzas like Grape & Gorgonzola and Chicken Gouda, you can’t help but love this place.
