West Virginia Penitentiary

Known as the “Eastern Regional Penitentiary” in the 2018 game Fallout 76, the West Virginia Penitentiary has a long and varied history. Serving as a prison for almost 120 years, it now serves as a tourist attraction.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Below are a list of things to do and see inside the penitentiary. If you have time, don’t forget to check out The Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex that sits right across the street.

Old Sparky

If you’re just itching to see an electric chair that has actually been used… multiple times… then you’re in luck!

Guided Day Tours

Spend 90 minutes touring this beautiful Gothic structure. You’ll see Old Sparky, prison art, and more.

3 Hour Investigation

The first half of the 3 hour investigation is the above guided tour. Afterwords, you’re free to explore one of the bloodiest institutions in the nation on you’re own.

Overnight Investigation

Starting with the above 90 minute tour, you’re then left alone all night to your own devices.
