If you’re looking for something a bit more refined when you’re in Charleston or Parkersburg, look no further than the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra has been around since 1939 providing around 50 concerts per year.

What started as a partnership between local chemical plants has since grown to become the premier musical organization in West Virginia. With more than 60 professional musicians engaged, The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra is West Virginia’s premier performing arts organization, presenting classical, pops, family and  chamber-music concerts annually throughout the Mountain State.

The Symphony Orchestra has brought world-renowned artists such as Violinist Midori, Soprano Deborah Voigt, Pianist Andre Watts, and Cellist Yo-Yo Ma to West Virginia. International Collaborations and 70-years history provides the Orchestra with solid history and definitely worth putting on your must see while visiting West Virginia.

They provide entertainment for all ages, with classic chamber concerts and classical set ups for the music enthusiast, but also shows with film music from the likes of Harry Potter to engage the children in the world of classical music.
